The Wave Relay™ Mesh CPE provides all of the advanced routing capabilities of the Wave Relay™ system in a lower cost single radio device. The goal of the mesh CPE product is to deliver the meshed routing capability all the way to the end user. This substantial increase in the number of meshed devices creates more routing options, leading to better connectivity and higher network capacity.

The Wave Relay™ CPE device, while part of the mesh network, still provides an 802.11 access point, which allows end users to connect conveniently. Since the CPE AP is inside end users' homes or offices, they are able to connect at extremely high speeds. The Wave Relay™ CPE is able to then hop across other CPEs in order to provide the highest possible connection speed back to the Internet. This unique capability allows Wave Relay™ to deliver high bandwidth all the way to the end user. Wave Relay™ is the only solution that delivers speed, scalability, and mobility.

Multi-hopping Mesh CPE:
The Wave Relay™ Mesh CPE runs the same sophisticated multi-hop routing protocol as the rest of the Wave Relay system. This allows the CPE devices to hop through each other in order to extend the wireless connectivity and to increase the number of possible routing options. The CPE devices will only hop through each other if the additional hopping results in increased efficiency and decreased consumption of the shared medium.

Integrated 802.11G Access Point and Wired Connectivity:
The single radio CPE device provides both mesh routing and 802.11 client access on the same radio in a single device. In addition, the CPE has an Ethernet port allowing the end user to be directly wired to the CPE. By providing wired access, 802.11 access, and mesh routing in a single integrated device, the Wave Relay™ Mesh CPE provides a low cost yet extremely capable device for extending connectivity to the end user.
