The Wave Relay™ Quad Radio Router provides a scalable high performance solution for deploying large Mesh or MANET systems.

The router can contain up to 4 separate wireless radios all of which both participate in the routing and can provide connectivity to 802.11 based wireless clients. By utilizing 4 radios, the Wave Relay™ router can simultaneously provide a multi-channel high speed multi-hop backhaul and provide client connectivity to client devices. This provides a single solution to all of your mesh networking needs. Wave Relay™ provides a unique combination of deployment flexibility, dynamic self configuring routing, throughput optimized route selection, fault tolerance, and unmatched scalability.

Quad Radio Modular Architecture:
Each router can contain up to 4 embedded radio modules. The standard radio modules operate in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. The routers can also be ordered in custom configurations which include support for other frequency bands such as 900 MHz, 3.5 GHz, and the 4.9 GHz Public Safety band. The quad radio architecture provides integrated client access, backhaul connectivity, use of public safety radios, and increased fault tolerance. By utilizing multiple radios on different channels, bandwidth can be preserved across multiple hops. The Wave Relay™ Quad Radio Router is capable of forwarding up to 70 Mbps of TCP throughput across multiple wireless hops.

Designed for Mobile Applications:
The Wave Relay™ router is specifically designed for use in highly mobile applications. The router can be powered by 12V DC power which is commonly available in vehicles. The quad radio architecture allows the router to seamlessly utilize both open frequency bands and public safety bands when utilized for public safety applications. The router can be permanently installed in vehicles or rapidly deployed using an optional magnetic mounting system.

Quality of Service (QOS):
The Wave Relay™ Quad Radio Router is designed to provide priority handling of latency sensitive data flows. This capability enables latency sensitive traffic such as VoIP to be prioritized over bulk TCP flows. Prioritization occurs at each layer of the networking stack. The system is specifically engineered to handle large volumes of VoIP traffic. The router is able to forward up to 40,000 packets per second. Latency optimized adaptive framing techniques ensure that small VoIP packets do not degrade network capacity while simultaneously ensuring that VoIP latency requirements are achieved.

Integrated GPS Support:
The Wave Relay™ Quad Radio Router can be ordered with either 4 radios or an integrated GPS receiver can be substituted for one of the radios. A GPS enabled router contains 3 wireless radios and 1 GPS receiver. The GPS receiver allows integration with the Wave Relay network visualization system. This provides real-time network visualization and tracking of mobile nodes.

Ethernet Connectivity:
The Wave Relay™ Quad Radio Router contains two 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports. The Ethernet ports are both IP67 rated and designed for outdoor use. One of the Ethernet ports is designed to accept injected power-over-Ethernet between 12-48V DC input. Both Ethernet ports can be utilized for connecting devices and networks in with the mesh. Operating at layer 2, Wave Relay™ can seamlessly bridge any device which runs over Ethernet, making network deployments truly plug-and-play.
