The Wave Relay™ Quad Radio Router provides a scalable high performance wireless solution for deploying large mesh or Mobile Ad Hoc Networking systems. The router can contain up to four separate wireless radios, all of which participate in the routing. By utilizing four radios, the Wave Relay™ Router can simultaneously provide a multi-channel, multi-hop backhaul and provide connectivity to client devices. This configuration offers a single solution to all mesh networking needs. Wave Relay™ offers a unique combination of deployment flexibility, dynamic self-configuring routing, throughput optimized route selection, robust fault tolerance, and truly unmatched scalability.

Each Wave Relay™ Quad Radio Router can contain up to four embedded radio modules. The standard radio modules operate in the 2.3 – 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, but the routers can also be ordered in custom configurations to support other frequency bands such as the 4.9 GHz Public Safety Band. The quad radio architecture provides integrated client access, backhaul connectivity, use of public safety radios, and increased fault tolerance. And, by utilizing multiple radios on different channels, bandwidth is preserved across multiple hops. The Wave Relay™ Quad Radio Router is capable of forwarding up to 70 Mbps of TCP throughput across multiple wireless hops.

The Quad Radio Router is designed specifically for use in highly mobile applications. The router can be powered by 12V DC, which is standard in most vehicles. Furthermore, the router can be permanently installed in vehicles or rapidly deployed using an optional magnetic mounting system.

The Quad Radio Router is available with an integrated GPS receiver that allows direct integration with the Wave Relay™ Network Visualization System, providing real-time network visualization and tracking. The Router contains two IP67 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports designed for outdoor use. One port is designed to accept injected power-over-Ethernet. Both ports can be utilized to connect devices and networks into the mesh. Operating at layer 2, Wave Relay™ seamlessly bridges any device that runs over Ethernet, making network deployments genuinely plug-and-play.
